First time you start Time2Report you will see an empty box to your left. In that box you will later on see customers and projects. How you fill that box is described in the sections "Handle customer", "Handle project" and "Configuration". By double clicking on a customer you will expand that customer to see what projects exists for that customer. You can check in and out by double clicking on a project or by clicking on the buttons "Check in", "Check out". If you has checked in on one project and want to switch project, then select the new project and click on the button "Switch project". The program will check you out from the old project and check you in on the new project.
You will be able to see all of today's times in the lower part of the main window.
In the configuration you can set if you want to see empty customers, that means that customers without projects will be visible in the main window.
You can round off times as you wish. The program differs between the times you see in the main window and the times you see in reports. You will find the times for the main window under screen, and the times for reports under report.
In configuration you can also change language. The only languages available at the moment is English and Swedish. A restart is necessary if you change language.
Under reports you will find several types of reports. Common for all reports is that they only show projects that you worked on during the period you have choosen.
The overview report creates a quick overview of your work divided into this week, last week, this month, last month, (So far) this year, and totally (ever since you created that projects).
Default setting for this report is that it will show the current week.
Choose the week you want to see the times for, and click "Show". If you want to you can save this report by clicking on "Save..." see more under the section "Save report"
Times show start and end times and eventual comments. Choose a start date and end date and click "Show". This report can also be saved, see the section "Save report"
In the custom report you can choose any period and choose if you want projects or dates as headers in the report. Choose start date and end date and what you want as header. Then click "Show". The report will only show the date and projects that has times registered. This is also a report that you can save.
You can save reports in this window. First you choose what format you wish to save the report in. There is currently two formats, Microsoft Excel and xml.
In filename you choose where the file shall be saved and what it should be named. The default is your homefolder under documentTime2ReportReports.
Enter the name of the customer and click on "Add"
Select a customer in the list. The name of the customer will appear in the box "name". Change the name and click on "Update"
Select a customer in the list, and click on "Remove". You can only remove a customer if it doesn't have any projects, either active or inactive. Removing a customer doesn't affect already recorded times.
Choose what customer the project belongs to. Enter the name you want to see the project as in the box "Name". The name is what you will see in the main window. The official name is the name your manager/report recipient, and that is what is presented in reports. You can also show if the projects should be visible outside the project period by checking "Visible outside projecttime"
Choose the customer and project you want to change and enter the new information and then click "Change"
Choose the customer and project you want to remove, and click "Remove". Removing a project will not affect already recorded times.
Choose which customer and project you want to add a time to. Enter the start date and time, and end date and time. You can also enter a comment. Click on "Add" to save the time.
When you want to change a time, you first need to select the period you want to see the times for. To do this select a start date and end date, and click on "Show".
Select the time you want to change, enter the new start date and time, and end date and time, name of the customer, the official name, and eventual comment. When you are done click on "Change" to save the time.
When you want to remove a time, you first need to select the period you want to see the times for. To do this select start date and end date, and click on "Show"
Select the time you want to remove and click and "Remove"
